Adarsh Inter College is embedded with rich history and embodies the dream of eminent freedom fighter, Gandhian and social reformer Late Shree Sitaram Gupta Jee. Before independence, Adalhat had only one primary school, and the nearest Junior High School was five kilometres away in Ahraura and Bhuili region. Lack of connectivity, road and other means of transportation, except bicycle, presented itself as a major hindrance in the path of educational development of the area. Moreover, the general populace was dispirited due to this lack of connectivity and less awareness among them about the importance of education in improving the quality of life had increased the indifference towards the education by manifold. The effect of such prevalent condition was that negligible number of students were pursuing education after primary school. Being a social worker, this problem was recognized by Late Shree Sitaram Gupta Jee and he took initiative to establish Junior High School in Adalhat market with a vision to educate people, to make them self-reliant and to develop abilities among masses to play the role of a responsible citizen in a newly independent state.

To fulfill this grand vision, Late Shree Sitaram Gupta Jee donated his own land and gave a call to the other noble families of the region to provide support for the gracious cause. Thus, due to collective effort of Late Shree Sitaram Gupta Jee and like-minded prominent personalities like, then MLA Late Shree Rajkumar Sharma Jee , Late Shree Jwala Prasad Jee, Late Shree Qazi Qayamuddin Ahmed Jee, Late Shree Jangbahadur Singh Jee, Late Shree Vishwanath Lal Srivastava Jee, Late Shree Sarju Prasad Srivastava Jee, Late Shree Rammurat Tiwari Jee, Late Shree Chedi Tiwari Jee, Late Shree Sukhnandan Tiwari Jee, Late Shree Shiv Prasad Tripathi Jee and Shri Shree Lalluram Jaiswal Jee, the Adarsh Junior High School Committee was formed which led to the establishment of The Junior High School on 15 November, 1951 in Adalhat Bazar.

To make such vision of founders a reality, then educationist, skilled-administrator and disciplined teacher Late Pandit Narottam Kumar Shukla Jee (Village- Dhanshyampur Ghasrauri) was appointed in Adarsh Junior High School Adalhat. He had shown immense commitment to the aforementioned cause and took the immense pain in educating first batch of only eight students and prepared them to make positive contribution to the society in coming years. This can be seen from the fact that one of those first eight student is the educationist and the Former manager and current mentor Shree Chhedilal Gupta Jee who has devoted his life to bring social reforms through education in the neighborhood.

After a while Pt. Narottam Kumar Shukla Jee took a break but the school continued to grow under the efficient administration of Headmaster Pt. Hoob Narayan Dubey Jee and Shree Shobhanath Pandey. Thereafter, Pt. Narottam Kumar Shukla Jee resumed his job of the headmaster and discharged his duties till his retirement in November 1966.The school made a mark in the society and had grown immensely during his tenure.

With the firm belief in their vision founding members secured the recognition of High School Arts Class by the Board of Secondary Education, Allahabad was in 1966 and thereafter appointed Late Shree Rajendra Prasad Srivastava Jee as the First Principal of the school. Under his leadership school achieved another landmark when the Science Class in the High School got recognition in 1969.

Another breakthrough was achieved by the school when it completed the difficult journey from Adarsh Junior High School to Adarsh Inter College which was made possible only by relentless and tireless efforts of the present Patron and ex-manager Shree Chhedilal Gupta Jee. After achieving this milestone, Shree Chhedilal Gupta Jee put his efforts with renewed vigor and succeeded in securing the recognition of Intermediate Literary Class, Intermediate Science class (without finance) and Vocational Education in shorthand and typewriting (Hindi) and Costume Designing, by the state government in 1982, 1992 and 1993 respectively.

The tremendous success of employable vocational courses reaffirmed the belief of present Patron and ex-manager Shree Chhedilal Gupta Jee in the positive effects of educational reforms. Thereby, he again devoted himself to the cause and enthusiastically pursued the present administration for inclusion of yet another important technical subject namely computer science in the present curriculum of students. This endeavor was successfully achieved its finality when computer science was included as a course in 2007.

With the advent of information technology and its growing acceptance among the general population, a need was felt to modernize various processes in our school to tackle rising challenges of modern times. So, present administration and staffs were trained to operate computer and various software to enable the students and to keep its records accessible, its processes transparent and the cost of learning at affordable levels. In pursuit to be transparent, the present manager Shree Sunil Kumar Gupta Jee got implemented an innovative idea of computerized fee collection system wherein fee receipt was to be provided to the students immediately after submission of fees. This ensured complete transparency and accountability which enhanced the trust of students and parents in school administration. Our School was first in the area to implement such technological intervention to lead the school on the path of modernization. Such inclusion of the practices of good governance is living example of our adaptable approach towards various challenges during changing time. It also shows that our school is ever ready to welcome necessary changes in its system so that welfare of its students can be ensured at all costs.

Succinctly, being first educational institute in the Adalhat market, the school upholds rich past and has actively participated in the educational development of adjacent area in the past and has immensely contributed in emergence of the neighborhood into modern era. With such an enriching and fulfilling journey from the 20th century to 21st century, we have vast experience as an institution and have contributed in the growth of human resources of this country which is evident from the active contribution of the alumni of this school in growth and development of our country. Keeping such a rich history of our school and its positive contribution to the society in mind, we are proud to be a mentor, a path finder and a true leader in the realm of education in our area and we have ever-growing faith that we will continue to be so in future too.
